Welcome to Maker’s Leather Supply Australia!

Hi! I’m Nerilee Saraci, a passionate leather artist and crafter based in Hobart, Tasmania. Alongside my husband Steve, we run Maker’s Leather Supply Australia, bringing top-quality leathercraft tools and materials to Aussie makers.

Our journey began with a love for leather and a need for practical solutions. Working with heavy horses, I struggled to find quality harness gear, so I started restoring old pieces—tearing them down, figuring out their construction, and bringing them back to life. That hands-on experience led me to study saddlery and leather tooling, and before I knew it, I was completely hooked on leathercraft.

At the Rocky Mountain Leathercraft Show in  Sheridan, Wyoming, we met Aaron & Janie-Sue Heizer of Maker’s Leather Supply, and everything clicked. After visiting their store in Elm Mott, Texas, we knew we had to bring their incredible products to Australia. With their blessing, Maker’s Leather Supply Australia was born, giving Aussie leathercrafters access to premium tools and materials that were previously hard to find.

We’re constantly learning, attending events like Dimensions in Leather (Brisbane), New Zealand’s Leather Artisans Conference, and workshops in the USA at Elktracks Studio and the Rocky Mountain Trade Show.

Our mission? To supply high-quality, hard-to-find leathercraft products and help fellow makers grow their skills. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, we’re here to support you and keep the tradition of leathercraft alive.
